We loved our stay at Bears Den! It was close to all the places we enjoy, just a short drive yet far enough for relaxation and quiet. The hot tub was amazing on the cool nights and the beds were very comfortable. Would definitely book this cabin again.

This cabin is excellent! Nice, open floor plan. Rooms are beautiful with cabin furniture. We were able to bring our dog. There are plenty of sleeping options: two beds, two cots, and a sleeper couch. The kitchen is well stocked. We also love the rental company. Everyone is so kind and helpful. We love it here and we hope to come back soon!

This cabin is amazing and exactly what we hoped for! Nestled in what seems like the middle of nowhere, this cabin boasts comfort, peacefulness and it’s definitely quiet! Conveniently located to Boone, Foscoe, Blowing Rock and Banner Elk. The hot tub was definitely a hit and very relaxing for the cooler nights! The property management company was very easy to communicate with; check in/check out was flawless. Only negative was that we didn’t want to leave and our 13 hour drive home through Tropical Storm Debby! We made it back to SWFL safe and sound! Would definitely recommend and hope to be back in the very near future! Thank you guys and gals so very much!

Bears Den's set up is absolutely excellent!Two nice size bedrooms with shower,whirlpool tubs and plenty of hot water. I have back problems and the beds were wonderful. We didn't use the hot tub or the gas grill but I'm sure everything is in order. Fire pit was really nice and plenty of wood under the front deck. Location is about 22 minutes from Boone and the house is very peaceful. We didn't cook during our stay but the kitchen is one of the best stocked of any I've seen, including high end cabins. Realtor Company is very easy to book and does exactly what they promise concerning code for lock box, etc. I would definitely stay here again.

A great cabin with all needed items, even condiments. Beds were the best we have ever stayed on outside our home. Comfy couches and decorated cute. Fully stocked with family games, books and puzzles. Will stay here again! Thank you!

This was a much-needed vacation, the Cabin was immaculate and well stocked. This property is well suited for 2 couples as it offers privacy for both primary bedrooms with a comfortable common area. Local attractions are close by and easily accessible, I just didn't feel the need to leave the Cabin!

Bear's Den is comfortable and clean! We enjoyed the hot tub and the front porch. So quiet and relaxing. The furnishings are nice and it's beautifully decorated. Appliances are dated but as long as they work we're fine. The owners have supplied a first aid kit (fortunately we didn't need) but very thoughtful. There are supplies in the kitchen which we didn't use because we went out for most meals. Only suggestions would be to relocate the house number so it's visible from the road. Directions said next to last house on right. You don't know it's the last house until you get there! Overall, a great place. The hydrangeas will be beautiful in a month or so!

We stayed here for a weekend in Jan. It was a wonderful place. So nice and clean. Well stocked- more than normal for other places we have stayed. Secluded enough that neighbors don’t see you. Will definitely come back. Enjoyed the fireplace, fire pit and the hot tub. Thank you for your hospitality!

We rented this cabin as a wedding present for our oldest Nephew and his wife. It was very secluded and impeccably clean. Perfect for their mini honeymoon. The property manager was gracious to allow us to park their car at the cabin a few hours early sothey could be driven by limo after the wedding in West Jefferson.

The cabin is very nice, clean and has everything you need. My family really enjoyed the hot tub. However, the road leading to it is mostly gravel and very narrow. You cannot pass another car coming in the opposite direction.

--We're happy to hear you enjoyed the cabin.  Future guests: many of our mountain roads are gravel and narrow, typically you can find a pullover spot to pass other cars if you do happen to see one tho.

The cabin was very clean! We appreciated all of the "starters", including toilet paper, paper towels, Ziplock bags & trash bags. It was so wonderfully dog-friendly. We couldn't believe you even supplied food/water bowls & poop bags! Unfortunately, there seemed to be a couple of dogs in the area from other homes, which were leaving their mark on the property. It was difficult to take our dogs out without them being drawn to all of the piles left by the other dogs, but I am not sure how you could solve this. All in all, we had a fantastic time in an all near perfect scenic getaway! Thank you!

We really enjoyed our stay at this rental property. The management company was so responsive and accommodating. Cabin was full of kitchen essentials, games for the kids, and informational materials about things to do in the area. The cabin was clean and linens and towels were provided. The hot tub was so relaxing. Neighborhood is quiet and cabin is private. It’s a short drive to all kinds of things to do, including Mount Jefferson. We very much enjoyed our stay and hope to book with this company again!

The house is nice. Not of big fan of where it sits. The area around the house isn’t really that nice. The road to the house is a little sketchy. But the house was very clean and well equipped. I would rent again.

The cabin is beautiful, comfy, and well-stocked with everything one needs from comfy beds and furniture (with extra cots for kids), coffee maker to dishes, pots, pans, utensils, TV, Hot tub. Wifi worked well-we had no issues. Front porch great place to sit and enjoy the fall colors. Be prepared: the road getting to the cabin is a little rough. Overall, a great getaway cabin!

This was the perfect cabin for 2 couples, especially because of the layout. There were 2 nice bedrooms on each end of the cabin. Each bedroom had its own nice roomy bath with a shower and a large, tub with jets for a relaxing bath! the middle of the cabin was the den/kitchen/ eating area combination with all open space so you could cook and hang out all at the same time. The covered front porch was so relaxing, and the back deck had room for a large hot tub and table with umbrella. Great for afternoon cocktails! We had one mishap where the shower head fell off and broke and after a quick call the came that day and fixed us up with a new one. One of the best, most relaxing getaways we have had!! They allow dogs too.

We had a wonderful week at Bears Den cabin, it was the best cabin we stayed in to date. (We travel a lot) It was clean, the furnishings looked new and was decorated in the bear theme. The cabin had everything we needed. Beds and pillows were awesome (would love to know where to buy a couple of those pillows!) Wood was provided for the fire pit. The hot tub was awesome, I just can't say enough about it, we just loved it!

It was great only a few minor items... hot tub cover needs to be replaced. It is full of water and too heavy to lift. Front door lock was loose and the light bulb was out so a little scary at night. Overall a perfect location, very clean and had great amenities. Would stay again !!

Great cabin! Hot tub was so relaxing after a long day of hiking! So thankful for a nice, clean cabin that accepts dogs. Kitchen was well stocked. We ate dinner and breakfast in the cabin. Location was great we spent a lot of time visiting attractions that were within a half hour of the cabin. We were here for the earthquake. Everything was stable. We would definitely stay here again. I was almost sad that we spent so much time hiking and sight seeing. Would love to spend more time in the comfy cabin next time!

Nice getaway for me and my little fur baby. House was beautiful!! Yard needed mowing upon arrival, and the gas grill was out of propane. I stayed a week July 3-10th. Very enjoyable overall! Neighbors close by so you are tucked in the woods but felt safe. Property manager had the yard mowed on Monday, and the gas tank replaced on Wednesday. Really enjoyed the stay and look forward to staying again in the future.

We loved the quiet, peaceful and comfortable Bear’s Den Cabin in Fleetwood, NC. The cabin was stocked with everything we needed for the week; we brought food but enjoyed the restaurants in the surrounding areas. The temperature never got above 80 degrees in the day with low humidity; perfect for swinging on the comfortable front porch swing and listening to the birds sing. We didn’t want to leave at the end of the week - our plan is to return soon!

Beautiful surroundings and lovely cabin. Our only complaints had to do with cleanliness. The refrigerator needed to be cleaned, as did the porches on both the front and back of the house. I think the cleaning service might not be doing as thorough a job overall as would be expected, considering the effort the owners have put into decorating the cabin. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains. We have been spending Thanksgiving there for ~20 years and this cabin was among the best. We appreciated being able to bring our puppy Molly. We had a little snow, some ice which melted quickly and wonderful accommodations. Perfect kitchen for preparing and enjoying a Thanksgiving feast. Excellent internet connection and TV reception to enjoy the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. We had a Christmas tree cut from the tree far on Cranberry Springs Road close to the cabin. We brought it back to Florida and had our house decorated for Christmas by Sunday night. Thank you for an amazing cabin.

Loved this cabin for our “girls weekend”! Very spacious and cozy. Had everything we needed. The bedrooms are on opposite ends of the cabin, that was a plus. Loved the hot tub as well. However, if you’re looking for total seclusion, this is not the place. The pictures are deceiving, there are other houses all around. Still a great place, though. Very easy to find and not too far from restaurants and grocery. There is a Dollar General about 10min. away. Food Lion about 20min. Easy driving though, no real curvy roads. The road leading up to the cabin is the worst road of the trip, it’s narrow and uneven but maneuvered just fine in a car. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Cabin was clean and layout was perfect . We enjoyed relaxing in the cozy living room and hot tub location was just right for a day outing to west Jefferson. Cabin was well ripped with anything you might need and the bathrooms were large and both had jacuzzi tubs. For us the place was perfect

My family had a great time just wish we could have enjoyed the cabin a little more than we did. We never got to use the hot tub as time was an issue. The only thing was the fireplace did not work; read the instructions but still could not get it to come on, so a little disappointed in that but that was the only thing.

A beautiful cabin, not far from some out door activities. If you are looking for a secluded cabin experience this is NOT the place. The pictures can be a little deceiving. You have a large cabin behind you over looking you and 2 residential homes in front of you. So privacy is not here. Besides that it is a beautiful cabin but is a little pricey. All in all we enjoyed our stay and the place was kept up very well

November 2016: An actual log cabin that's quaint, and literally "off the beaten path" was what we hoped to find for our quiet Thanksgiving week, and the Bear's Den fit the description perfectly! Here you'll find all the modern conveniences, exceptionally clean and cozy, and just close enough to civilization at West Jefferson to allow us to break up the quiet with a little mountain culture and hospitality. We STRONGLY RECOMMEND this property AND this agency for your NC mountain getaway!

We wanted a remote, peaceful location and were not disappointed. The cabin was clean and well-stocked and had been maintained well. If you want quiet and don't mind driving over bumpy gravel roads to get in and out, this is the place.

This is a beautiful, modern, nicely furnished cabin. It's in a quiet location, but within striking distance of Boone (for restaurant and grocery purposes). I loved being near the Todd Railroad Grade Road for biking! My only disappointment was the absence of a king-sized bed. (The two beds are both queens.)

Two couples enjoyed a weekend in the mountains while attending Merlefest in April. The cabin was very comfortable with a really nice open kitchen/living area and two big master suites. Once we learned to adjust the temperature of the "on demand" hot water, there was plenty for showers, etc. The area is quiet and picturesque. This is our third year at Bear's Den for Merlefest, and we look forward to coming back.

Bear's Den was a cozy 2 bedroom cabin with a very spacious living area in Fleetwood, a good location for two couples,attending the 4 day Merlefest Americana music festival. We enjoyed everything about the cabin with one exception... Neighbors dogs barked long and loud in the mornings. Other than that it was perfectly appointed for both festival-going and fly-fishing.

Overall, this cabin is a 4.99 star! We had a jar peanut butter on the counter and in less than an hour there was a trail of ants anxious for a snack. This is hardly something to worry about when booking. We will book this cabin again for sure. Had a great weekend and look forward to returning!

Perfect charming little cabin for a weekend getaway. Good size for a family of five. Had to use the rollaway bed, but kids loved that. Bathrooms were nice and large. Loved the porch swing and huge grassy area in front. Will definitely be back!

Loved this cabin! Hope to return in the future to check out the sites & Tweetsie Railroad. It rained our entire stay so we had to make other plans. Still had a memory-filled stay at Bear's Den.

The management company was top notch; very responsive. While there is a house directly in front and one behind the property, we NEVER saw anyone else on the top of the hill with us. The property/yard is great for campfires, throwing the frisbee, and they have lots of outdoor games that are provided. The only (slight) drawback is that you couldn't really venture off the property to hike with the little ones...dense vegetation surrounds. But the outdoor hot tub was a hit for my son. The bedrooms were large (and the beds were comfortable), the indoor gas fireplace was a nice touch, and the kitchen had everything you needed to cook. Also they provide all the firewood and outdoor chairs you need for the campfire.

We had a blast!!!!

Homeowner's offer an initital supply of paper products as a courtsey to vacationers who may be arriving late however not a full vacation supply. All renters are expected to supply their own paper products per the check in instructions provided before arrival.

Cabin was more than expected and exceeded our expectations. Everything was clean, everything worked, everything that was needed for a great weekend was provided. The property management company was very helpful in finding a cabin for us and even allowed us to make a change at the last minute. The cabin was spotless and had all the comforts of home. There was a fire bowl with all the supplies for building a fire ready to go, so we built a fire and enjoyed sitting outside under the stars.

We were pleasantly surprised at the high quality of this Bear's Den, how new it was, how homey it was, and how well it was stocked with everything we could possibly need for our stay. The property is beautiful and we liked some of it better than our own homes! We'd love to stay at Bear's Den again and will be recommending Ashe High Country Vacations to all our friends heading out west! Our only regret is that we all forgot to sign the guestbook.
