Creekside Escape Log Cabin - West Jefferson

We just stayed at this cabin again for what had to be like the fifth time. We live the location, the seclusion, and the beauty of the surroundings. This cabin is not a 5 star resort but it is just fine with us and the price is great. The beds may be a little difficult for anyone with physical issues but are very comfy once you get in.

Enjoyed staying at this cottage. It’s a nice place to go on a weekend getaway. The creek next to cottage was relaxing to listen to. The place could use some upgrades but it’s enough for a short trip and if you plan to explore nearby attractions the majority of the time.

The cabin was so cute and more importantly clean. The location was perfect, right alongside a creek and easy access from the highway. Check in and out was very easy. The cabin was well stocked with everything we needed. The deck and hot tub were the 'icing on the cake'!

We have visited Creekside Escape several times since 2019. It is peaceful with the bubbling creek right there in the yard! The hot tub on the deck is a great way to relax and enjoy nature. It's a short drive to West Jefferson which has great food, shops and fun in one place! We are already looking forward to our next adventure!

We booked a quick getaway at Creekside Escape and it exceeded our expectations. The cabin is adorable, the location is perfect and we loved that it was dog-friendly. The best part of our two-night stay was sitting on the deck in the evening and listening to the sound of the creek. We always book with Stay Blue Ridge! We enjoyed our stay. However, we were there during a snow storm and needed more heat. Thankfully, we brought extra blankets to help keep us warm. There was cold wind coming through the bedroom window. A portable heater would help during such cold and windy conditions. The cabin was cute, clean, and enjoyable. We were disappointed that our plans to go snow tubing were canceled, but we were able to go sledding nearby and enjoy the board games provided. I would definitely recommend the cabin to others!

We had such a great time in West Jefferson. The cabin was lovely and I was extremely impressed with the interactions I had with Stay Blue Ridge. The cabin was clean, cozy, warm, and well-stocked. We loved using the hot tub and the claw foot tub. Our only suggestion for improvement is that the couches and chairs in the living room could use replacing. They are worn out and not very comfortable. Thank you for a wonderful honeymoon!

We enjoyed our stay here very much. The cabin was well appointed and very cozy. The deck overlooking the creek and the hot tub made outdoors a great place to relax. If you're looking to stay in and rest, or if you want to use this as a jumping off point for shopping, hiking, or whatever you are into, you will not be disappointed. This place provides a nice feeling of being secluded in your own little world without actually being too secluded.

It's location was ideal as it felt so private but was central to most everything we wanted to do. West Jefferson was also a quaint little town, loved the shops and restaurants. What a great getaway spot we have discovered for future stays! Very peaceful and tucked away next to a gurgling mountain stream. Very clean and the unique decor was much fodder for discussion. Of course the hot tub was a great amenity as we had evenings in the 40s and 50s. We are already looking forward to returning!

An excellent stay overall!! Cabin is exactly what we expected and the sound of the creek was just incredible. We are strongly considering another trip there in the fall. Our only little nit picky criticism is wishing the stairs were a bit bigger up to the loft, we ended up leaving our suitcases downstairs which wasn't a big deal for us. Loved the place though and miss being there terribly.

We loved the cabin and totally enjoyed West Jefferson and surrounding towns. Did a ton of shopping and scenic driving. My only advice would be to add some outdoor lighting on the deck for evening, we love to sit outside by the creek and it was so dark, had to use a flashlight.

The same things that didn't work (stove, dining room light, lamps) described in the 10/10 visitors from Raleigh were still in same condition for me. Cobwebs on the note board by the kitchen sink and dusty bookshelf area.... Place was peaceful and in good location. I will come back.

The setting by the creek with gazebo, hot tub hammocks was lovely & private. However, maintenance needs attention. Broken see saw, tired, old porch furniture, worn sofas, 2 lights broken at switch,non working clock, couldn't turn on dining area light fixture. 2 downstairs beds are in nooks (not a room ) All heat provided by fireplace gas logs. It works but takes a long time to warm.One burner out on stove. About one third of outside lights work.

Another great experience! We enjoyed the small cabin and it's great location close to West Jefferson. We love visiting this quaint town. The cabin is a short drive to Todd and Fleetwood areas as well. We always go to the Green Valley Park near Todd. The cabin is warm and cozy for a couple or small family. The creek running through the property is relaxing to listen to it as you sit on the deck or by a campfire and roast marshmallows. The hot tub on the deck is inviting and relaxing even when it's cold outside. We enjoyed the fireplace and it warms the cabin nicely. I love the layout of the small kitchen. We look forward to our next visit!

This little cabin is adorable! The pictures do not do it justice. It is in a central location between all the “hot spots”, which was nice if you plan on visiting all of them like we did. The only complaint I have is that we did not get to stay longer!

We arrived around 10pm so it was very dark but the moment we stepped out of the car and heard the stream we knew we had found the peaceful escape we were hoping for. The cabin inside was so cute and well maintained. The only down side is the light switches are very difficult to find and the gas log fireplace inside didn't work. However since we spent most of our time on the porch that wasn't a big deal for us. I will absolutely be booking this cabin again!

The cabin is really easy to find....especially after you pass the driveway the first time. It is really private even though it is next to the road. It doesn't take long at all to get to town for supplies or shopping or just meeting folks downtown. Don't forget to checkout the Churches of the Frescoes that are in the area as well. The cabin is quite comfortable and many places to sleep if you want. We will probably be back very soon.

Go when the wind dies down in the mountains...late June is best. Lot's of deer to see and even a bear or two if ur lucky. Try trout 's fun and you get to eat well afterwards.

We have been staying in Ashe and Allegheny counties for over twenty years but this was the first time in a cabin. Loved every minute spent here. Cooler temps and especially sitting on deck and listening to the babbling brook. My ONLY complaint - no coverings on windows - was a little unnerving. At least, have the option to close at night. Other than that, absolutely loved the property.

My girlfriend and I rented around Valentines Day earlier in the year. We loved the cabin so much we decided to come back while the weather wasn’t so hot. We had another fantastic time. It’s definitley a great place for a couple or small family to get away. Secluded, but close to various things to do and shopping. We love using the kitchen and cooking or grilling when we don’t feel like getting out. The hot tub is always amazing...we love a good soak in the evenings! We definitely recommend!

My girlfriend and I decided to have a little getaway, so we drove up for a Friday through Sunday stay. The weather wasn't the best, but this cabin was an excellent place. Secluded enough, but close enough to neighbors and the town if you needed anything. The cabin was nice and cozy and very well kept. The hot tub was AMAZING and we had enough breaks in the rain to enjoy it. We will absolutely be renting this little gem again in the very near future.

This property is a wonderful hidden escape and the only regret I had was that I didn't stay longer. I enjoyed sleeping with the windows open and drifting off to the sounds of the river. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the "Creekside Escape" for our 30th anniversary. The cabin was nicely tucked away and the sounds of the creek bubbling by were awesome. The cabin was very clean and other than chasing the carpenter ants the appeared occasionally was a perfect getaway for our extended weekend. The instructions on arrival were a little confusing. They stated that the controls for the air conditioning were over the fireplace which was not the case. We did locate the air conditioner in the loft and once we got the temperature adjusted, we were very comfortable. We also note that the bulbs in the track light in the kitchen as well as the light over the stove were not working so lighting was a little dim. We spent our first day visiting West Jefferson's shops. Most of our time was spent chilling at the cabin. This was the first time we have rented a cabin and will definitely do so again in the future.

This is our second time staying at the Creekside Escape and we will be back for another dose within the year! We recommend this to all different types of groups or just a couples getaway. Very clean, hottub very clean and ran well. Needed to pick up propane but the grill worked just fine! Cable and tv was nice to have since it rained 2 of the 4 days. We got to lounge and watch movies all day!

The best birthday ever!! We arrived on January 6 and it started snowing just before we arrived. We woke the next morning to about 8 inches of snow! The cabin was perfect!! Beautiful cabin tucked away from everything. Has everything you could possibly need. Love all the nicknaks and fun personalization in the cabin. Bed upstairs is very comfy. Our dog couldnt get up there because of the spiral staircase and he kept whining so i had to move to the downstairs bed. Our dog really enjoyed the property and the creek. We loved the hot tub outside and the fireplace inside. We are planning our next stay! Everything was perfect!

We spent 5 nights at Creekside Escapes on our honeymoon. We were very happy and pleased with the cabin, a lovely mountain getaway! We loved the idea of leaving bird food for the guests to put into the bird feeder. We enjoyed sitting porch watching the birds come in to eat. The property was very neat and clean. The only suggestion I can make is that it may be better to have some lighting walking to the hot tub and around the hot tub itself. It is very dark and hard to see to put the hot tub cover on. Other than that a perfect stay!

This place was cute, and rustic. Loved hearing the creek as we sat on the porch. I wish there had been another bathroom, but overall, a great place to spend a weekend.

My family of 4 had an amazing 5 day, 4 might stay at this cabin. It was fully stocked, clean, and felt like home. We loved the deck, hot tub, rushing creek and being secluded from the road-yet conveniently close to town . We hope to visit creekside escape again soon!

Creekside Escape was a wonderful place to come back to after exploring Ashe County & Blue Ridge Parkway. Really enjoyed the wonderful, fully equipped cabin with the creek right outside. West Jefferson area is a hidden gem. Wish we had an additional night or two to spend there, maybe another time.

Considering the cabin is just off the road, it is very secluded and quiet. The sound of the creek was very soothing and made for some good sleeping. The property was very clean and well maintained. It's also close to town of West Jefferson and it's many shops.

From the moment you drive through the dense landscape and enter the idyllic grounds, you are transported to a magical place. Everything about this rental is unique and inviting, touching all your senses and instilling one with a sense of peace. Not too big, not too small....just perfect for our family of 5 adults/teens. Beds are comfy, kitchen is well stocked, as is the bathroom. Water pressure is a bit low and it was a little warm with no AC (we visited in mid August), but not a crisis. It is about 13 miles from App State...a bit further than we imagined but a beautiful drive nonetheless. This is quite the find and I would strongly reccomend the experience! We will definitely be back.....

My husband and I celebrated our 25th anniversary at this beautiful place. Our favorite memories are the sounds of the babbling brook and the rustling of the leaves in the forest. The cabin had everything to have a romantic getaway and loved the hot tub! We were fortunate to have beautiful weather and enjoyed the local state parks.

It was a delightful experience! The cabin was quaint, ecclectic, cheerful and in a convenient yet quiet setting. The only problem was some ants were in the kitchen.

This is a great place for peace and quite. The only thing we regret was the size of the beds. They were very small and cramped. Also the beds were not for the elderly as they were very high from the floor. My mother had to be helped in and out of the beds because of her artificial knee joints. Other than that this house is at an amazingly secluded location that is so convenient to West Jefferson. A great time we had.

We had a great time. We have watched Tiny House Nation and wondered what it might be like to live like that. It was great! The only problem we had were finding the light switches. Other than that it was like living in a play house.

My husband and I stayed for 4 nights and it was amazing!!! The property is so tucked away and hidden but also 5 minutes from town! Perfect!!! Everything was ready to use and clean! The creek out back is beautiful and easy to get to. Our favorite was using the hot tub. SO relaxing! Soaking and listening to the creek was exactly what we needed! We have told everyone we know about it and cannot wait to get back asap!!

Secluded cabin nestled down in a private
intimate spot with a beautiful creek running right behind it. The road is close but not much traffic and it doesn't interfere. The inside is so cozy, beautiful and clean. We will return!

This cabin is just minutes from downtown West Jefferson, yet sitting on the deck you feel a million miles away. It is very secluded and has great creek running through the backyard, which is great to hear while you sleep on the porch bed! The cabin has such much character and is very clean! We have stayed here twice and I wish we could live here!!

We had our children and 1 and 3 year old grandchildren come to stay at the cabin as we had been there before. The downstairs loft beds are comfortable, but not safe for little children. The upstairs bed is alright for children.
The internet never worked while we were there, but there is a house phone. The cell signal is NOTHING for AT&T phone service, so wifi is pretty important to have. There were two codes in the book and neither one worked, even after we tried to reset the device.
The creek is amazing, the driveway was grated nicely and the rocking chairs in the screened in porch were nice, as was the hammock.
There was no outside trash can for us to put our trash as we checked out on Sunday, like it says in the instruction binder.

We had a girls weekend with 5 girls. There was more than enough room. The bathroom was very large so not enough space wasn't an issue. We liked how there were 3 different sleeping areas so you didn't feel like you were on top of each other. I slept in the bed off from the kitchen with the windows up and could hear the water from the creek and it was amazing. It rained the entire weekend but that didn't stop us. The hot tub was still enjoyable and we still made it into town for a wine and beer tasting and picked up some cheese at the cheese factory. It was close enough to town where you could run to the store if you forgot something but the cabin felt completely private. The pictures do not do this place justice. It's very cute and personal. We're already planning another trip. Cannot say enough about how great this place was and how great the renters were to work with. Some of the friendliest people I've ever met. Thanks for a great weekend!!

Cabin was secluded and perfect. Far better than advertised and exceeded our expectations. Very cozy and romantic. We will definitely be back to this cabin in the future. Property was very clean and maintained. The creek was amazing.

We arrived on a Saturday evening - had a little trouble finding the property as there was only a small green sign on the ground with the house numbers on it. Though it was near the road, the trees did a good job of making it feel very secluded. The creek was a lovely sound addition to the property. The cabin was well equipped and a pleasant place to get away from it all. We spent five days simply relaxing and were able to do that well at Creekside Escape.

Close to mountain view. Hot tub and creek were super...climbing spiral staircase was difficult. Wifi always showed poor signal. Even when standing next to the unit, we could not get on. Hot water ran out quickly. Cluttered cabin...just too much stuff. Even with all of these complaints, we had a great time and would consider coming again.
