Happinest Vacation Cottage - Fleetwood

Very clean with plenty of room. Big porch to sit and relax on. Only negative is the parking. Not much room for a full size truck. I will recommend this cabin. Thumbs up.

I have stayed here several times. The home is comfortable as t the location is perfect for visiting our family. There was no stale or otherwise off-putting aroma in the house as others have mentioned in reviews. I will stay again.

Everything was great. Loved the hot tub, the ping pong table, the spacious basement. Our dog loved the porch where she could run. Appliances, bathrooms, beds were all perfect. To get a sense of how much we liked it, our biggest complaint was that they did not have any rubber spatulas (for scraping bowls after baking projects). And that is a minor complaint indeed.

We absolutely fell in love with this home. It was beautiful beyond our expectations. We loved sitting on the porches rocking, talking and laughing about childhood memories. The hot tub and ping png table were a bonus equally enjoyed by all. Her 12 year old daughter laughed so hard because we were really bad but we tried and she loved that. This was the first time my sister had ever been to the mountains but it will not be the last. We are so thankful for others sharing their homes so other families can make memories to cherish forever.

Everything we needed was there. Very accommodating to dogs with toys,bowls, blankets, and towels were supplied if needed. View is lovely and rooms are spacious enough. King size mattress could be switched out for a newer one. Hot tub was great. Overall a very nice enjoyable stay. Would recommend and making plans already to go back.

We enjoyed our long weekend here! The kids loved the game room in the basement and adults enjoyed the hot tub. The house was equipped with lots of extra towels and pillows and blankets (something so many rentals lack and we appreciated this!). The kids liked the extra touch of treat bowls with mints around the house, and well stocked Game cupboards. We roasted marshmallows by the fire pit one night - plenty of seating. Check-out procedure was clear and not time consuming (allowed us to enjoy ourselves up to the last minute without having to wait for laundry or dishwasher to finish etc). We would definitely stay here again!

Loved this cottage and it's great location. Close to the BRP and West Jefferson down town. House has everything you need for a great experience. Just one suggestion, update to a keypad doorknob system. Took a while every time we had to lock and especially unlock the front door. Locking mechanism in the front doorknob is worn out.

My sisters and I stayed in this quiet home for a weekend. Very close to downtown West Jefferson and the Blue Ridge Parkway. It's even 7 minutes from a winery! Loved the place and would definitely stay again.

We met our son and his family (6 of us in all) at this cottage and enjoyed it very much. There was plenty of room for sleeping,cooking, and eating. My grandchildren especially enjoyed the ping pong table and games. My son & his wife both needed to do some work while there and the internet was very good for their needs. The temperature of the mountains was very refreshing after the heat and humidity of Alabama and DC, and we enjoyed the rocking chairs on the front deck.Thank you so much for this vacation place.

This house was perfect for six friends on a weekend getaway. The hot tub was great, and the kitchen made it easy to cook meals together. The downstairs space was a hit, with the ping pong table and a corner for puzzles and games. The rooms were cozy and the bathrooms were clean. Property managers were nice to work with and their clear directions made it easy to find the house.

My family of 6 us plus 2 dogs very much enjoyed our stay at the happiNest, the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for our Thanksgiving meal. The ping pong table and hot tub was a big hit. The master bed could have been more comfortable and I would have rather had tvs in the bedrooms, but besides that, this was everything we wanted.

This property was everything we needed for a wedding weekend in NC! The hot tub was especially great. Some of the rooms were not even pictured on the listing, so we were pleasantly surprised with another bedroom and a garage full of space/games! Honestly, the photos did not do this cabin justice. It was much cleaner and updated than the photos made it seem. Would definitely stay here again!

This was not my favorite cabin but it was ok. Too close to the busy highway for me. We had a issue with the grill and hot tub the first night but the realty agency was quick to make everything right. I like that. It felt more like staying in a house instead of a cabin but they do have some nice extra touches around the place to make it a very nice and comfortable stay.

Definitely was a great weekend getaway! A friend and I planned a birthday weekend getaway for our boyfriends (who happen to be twin brothers). We were all highly impressed with the house, and great space/amenities it offered. It was secluded enough to feel private & luxurious, but was close enough to many stores/restaurants. We enjoyed our stay very much. We were thrilled and surprised by an early season snow storm just prior to our arrival to make the place truly a winter wonderland. I most definitely suggest investing in chains or a 4 wheel drive vehicle if renting during the winter months. The pictures do not do justice to how nice the place the really is. It is very comfortable and perfect for a family get away. Just far enough from the hustle and bustle to get away and relax but still close enough to all the local attractions to be able to enjoy them when you need to get out of the house for a bit. The kitchen is very adequately equipped with everything you would need to prepare meals. The grill was perfect for dinner and the hot tub made for a relaxing treat to end our days with. It was great to be able to have our dogs along with us and the extra care and provisions made to make them feel welcome was an awesome bonus. I would highly recommend Happinest to anyone looking for a quite relaxing time away.

Really enjoyed Happinest. Had done a lot of research on different options/locations and thought this was the best combination of amenities and proximity to nearby cities and outdoor activities. It was close enough to get into W. Jefferson or Boone quickly, but also felt very remote when at the house amidst the trees. I don't think that the pictures do it justice and the house was better than expected. Loved the hot tub and ability to see the stars at night. The kitchen was terrific and had basic essentials. The closed off deck allowed a nice enclosed area for a dog to run around. Property management company responded quickly answering questions and responding to one issue. One suggestion is to upgrade mattresses in the master and perhaps also the 2nd bedroom. Very happy overall, thanks.

The property is nice, mostly secluded. There are two neighbors at a good distance through the woods. The hot tub was nice. The space was nice, but could be a little cleaner, mostly the floors. I am a housekeeper so I'm a little biased. Overall I really like the place. If you're staying in the winter, you need a 4x4 to get up the driveway or you won't make it.

HappiNest was the perfect home for a long weekend getaway. It was clean when we arrived and the hot tub was a great bonus to enjoy. When we arrived to the home it is located on a steep incline which was fine except the drive way is broken making it very difficult to turn up the driveway. The only way we were able to get up the driveway on a car was to back up the driveway which is not ideal. Other than that, it was a nice cabin and great for a getaway!

This great cottage is nestled in the woods and serves as a private retreat. Pictures and the descriptions accurately represent the property. It is conveniently located close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and is close to both West Jefferson and Boone. My wife and I had a great weekend and plan to return at some time in the future.

I really liked the location of this house, it's not far from West Jefferson, a short drive to Boone, Grandfather Mountain etc. It feels like you are in a tree house, we enjoyed the trees surrounding the house. One of the reasons we booked the property was the hot tub even though there were only two of us. Unfortunately the hot tub was not hot the first day and night and did not warm up until the next day. The customer service was excellent however, I called the first night to leave a message and was surprised the manager answered the phone at 9pm. The service person came out that night. Nothing was wrong with it, it was just filled at 11 am and it took about 24 hours to heat up. Other than that we enjoyed ourselves.

I have a few suggestions for the owners or managers that would make it even better. If you could add a few new cookie sheets, a pot or pan and a toaster. While the home was clean, I think the floors need a deep cleaning (bathrooms) and the small rugs could be replaced as they have seen many days. Again, all minor just wanting to give some feedback to the property management company.


We would have appreciated some sort of small credit since we booked 3 nights and could only use the hot tub 2 nights. With things mostly closed, our plan was to be around the house utilizing this. I did not request or raise the issue however. Overall I would use this company again, booking was easy online and the response time was excellent.

This vacation was a gift from my husband for Valentine’s Day and my birthday which are 10 days apart. We stayed for 3 nights with our two doggies. It was one of the most relaxing vacations we’ve had in a long time. The hot tub was a wonderful feature and we even got a little snow. Very romantic and wonderful. Hopefully we will be able to go back this fall.

I had the best time celebrating my birthday with family and friends. HappiNest was easy to get to ( at night we had a little trouble finding the road) but other than that the cabin looks just like the pics, it was clean, the hot tub felt great. We had a great family weekend in the Boone area! Lots to do and see and loved spending our tile outside! We enjoyed playing ping pong and sitting in the hot tub! The only advice I’d give is to let renters know of all of the road construction going on right where the road entrance to the rental is. We passed the road because it was hard to see with the construction. Otherwise It was a wonderful place to stay!

Our family of five enjoyed a very comfortable Thanksgiving holiday weekend here. Our son attends Appalachian State University so it was easier for us to travel from the coast to the mountains to spend Thanksgiving together. This cabin is easy to find, very clean, very comfortable and well appointed. We cooked a full Thanksgiving dinner in the kitchen, enjoy the fireplace, slept well, toured around Boone and West Jefferson, played ping-pong, did laundry, and had a great time. I highly recommend this cabin. Oh did I forget the hot tub! We enjoyed that as well.

Overall we were sastified with the home. It is not the cabin experience we were expecting, but it is a well equipped mountain home. The location is convenient to West Jefferson and Boone, it has everything needed in the kitchen for preparing meals. The beautiful wooded view and the relaxing hot tub were the best parts for us.

We visited the home for a baseball trip at App State we finished our games more than hour early and called and the lady @ Ashe High Country Vacations & she was so nice and helpful she actually let us check in early which was a blessing because we were hot and tired!!! Entering the home it was very clean and it had plenty of things available for cooking and towels to use for the bath. The hot tub was very clean and it worked which is always a huge plus ... there was also a ping-pong table downstairs that the boys really enjoyed ... this home was well worth the money we spent it's only about 10 minutes away from Walmart and there's lots of other places nearby for shopping and gas. Thanks so much for such a pleasant experience!!! Would return ����������

The house was pretty much in a neighborhood and not at all secluded as we were hoping for. The gas fireplace did not work and though we could get the pilot to light and the fireplace to come on, it would go out after a minute or so (we have a gas fireplace in our own home and know how to operate so it wasn't a user issue). When we were in the hot tub on the deck, we noticed there was black smoke coming out of the chimney and black soot began falling on our heads and into the hot tub. Fortunately, my husband had noticed a boiler in the basement and realized it must have been vented to the chimney and that that was what was causing the smoke and soot. However, I feel this is something that should have been left inside the booklet so guests would not have been alarmed. Overall, the house was nice, comfortable, clean and a short drive to town, but was not the cozy, romantic weekend we were expecting and was very disappointed.

Thank you for the feedback. We really wish you would have called during your stay as it turns out the boiler furnace was on the fritz, thus the reason for the soot, and it went completely out the following weekend. If we had been made aware sooner we could have also saved the following weeks guests the issue of no heat late Saturday night. The furnace has now been repaired so this is no longer a problem. We do ask to please call us if you run into any issues so we can attempt to remedy them during your stay as well as prevent any future issues for other guests. Future guests: This property is located in a neighborhood and you do pass homes on the way in but once you are at the cabin the covered porch side as well as the hot tub location are private. The gas logs are also on schedule to be serviced but are currently working as well.

We went for the weekend and the weather was perfect, this was our 2nd trip through Ashe county properties and just like the first the cabin was clean and neat with a nice note on the table on downfall with the cabin was the gas logs wouldn't light but with a nice hot tub and the trees changing colors who wants to be inside any way

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Happinest. The location was perfect. We were close enough to drive into Blowing Rock and shop and eat and close enough to Boone to tour Appalachian State University with out daughter and enjoy a zip line tour. The cabin was located on a gravel road that was secluded enough to be quiet and relaxing while also allowing us a path to walk our dogs and enjoy mountain scenery. The rental was clean and well equipped.
