This is our second time at the cabin and will book again. Beautiful views and secluded but close to downtown Lansing and West Jefferson. Lansing is growing and I love the little town with great food and the park. Driveway is a little steep at top but so worth going to.

The cabin was comfortable, clean and well stocked with kitchen utensils and paper products. If you are a veteran of mountain renting, the driveway isn't as scary as some of the reviews indicate. However, having to lock and unlock the gate at the bottom of the drive was a nuisance, and winter conditions could make the driveway a bit challenging. That said, it's still less expensive to rent a cabin like Phoenix Rising than stay in a local hotel. The cabin is dog friendly, but it is well kept. We will stay here again!

The front view to Phoenix Mountain is so beautiful. It makes for the perfect cabin setting. This cabin in Lansing is perfect for access to many great hiking areas within 20 minutes: Grayson Highland State Park, Mount Jefferson Natural Area, New River State Park, Ashe County Disc golf course. The cabin itself was SO clean. Someone takes really good care to clear the webs, dust, bugs away both inside and outside. Even for summer, the cabin has good temperature control to feel cool w/ AC or open the front door with screens to enjoy the fresh air. There is comfortable furniture, bedding, front porch rockers, back porch patio table, and all the needed amenities. Watching the hummingbirds feed at the front porch was a treat. Read a previous review and would mention that the driveway is steep but certainly doable to reach cabin - take it slow. We very much enjoyed our stay here and would rent again!

Beautiful cabin, great location perched on a hill top. We had a great time fireplace a nice touch. The front porch faces East great to watch the Sun rise. The driveway is steep but is well paved looks more intimidating than it actually is. Put the car in first gear and go slow and steady. Overall very happy money well spent!!!

We stayed here for a cozy Thanksgiving weekend away with the family. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. We spent our time fishing at the Lansing Creeper Trail Park, hanging out at Molley Chomper, and had a pizza from Pie on the Mountain. The kids loved playing foosball in the loft and exploring the games and books in the living room. This definitely a cabin we plan to stay at again!

Love the location for this vacation rental!
Great parking area that is paved. Beautiful long range mountain views. Close to Lansing and 15 minutes from West Jefferson. House is adequately stocked with everything you need in the kitchen except ice trays or just buy a bag of ice. If you like a firm mattress, you will be happy. I prefer something a little softer so I would recommend a mattress pad. The only thing missing outside is a fire pit. It was advertised in the listing. Look forward to staying here again soon!

We love this cabin and have stayed here a number of times. It’s always clean and the kitchen is well equipped. We usually enjoy the loft bedroom, but the mattress has apparently been replaced and it’s hard as a rock. The screen door at the front has a big hole in the bottom which prevented us from being able to leave the front door open for fresh air. The grounds desperately need attention. The grass was looked like someone mowed “at” it and the shrubs at the front porch are so tall that you can’t enjoy the view of the mountain. I suspect the overgrown shrubs contribute to the Yellow Jacket issue. Buy some hedge trimmers y’all! The paved driveway is a plus for motorcyclists and it’s pet friendly but you’d never know it when you walk in. Other than poor grounds keeping this cabin is really cool. The rental management company is always a pleasure to deal with.

My family loved this house and it's location. Yes the driveway was steep but just don't stop and you will be okay. The house was clean and well laid out for our family. We played tons of cornhole and got quite competitive. The yard was in much need of being mowed but I will say we booked the week of our stay so it was understandable. We ate at Shatley Springs, Pie on the Mountain and the Mountain restaurant in Lansing and would for sure go back to each of them! I would stay here again and I would recommend it to others!

The cabin was very nice. The cons: STEEP driveway, but it is the mountains, so should be expected. Unlocking, Opening, closing, and relocking the gate at the bottom of the driveway every time we came or went was annoying in and of itself but also because of the steepness of the driveway. However,I would stay there again.

Quiet private cabin with great views from the front porch. The cabin had everything that we needed for our 2 night stay. The driveway is fairly steep and narrow, but manageable.

We found this property available for a last-minute trip to the mountains, at a very reasonable rate. The cabin was clean, spacious, and was perfect for our long weekend. The wood burning stove worked great, and we even used the little gas grill outside. The beds were comfortable and we loved the porch furniture. The shower situation was a little challenging, but the water was warm. The driveway is steep, and we were concerned about the bad weather one we just didn't leave the house. Our family would definitely stay here again!

I had looked at several but this one seemed to be right for us. Need to get away after Florence and my sister needed a few days away because she had lost her home to the flood. Was very happy with the cabin. Quiet and private and the view of the mountains while you sat in the porch swing was truly a sight to see. We were all very pleased with this property.

We loved the house. Super cute. Beds were comfortable. Regular sheets would have been better given the weather. Flannel sheets were a little warm. We did have SEVERAL bees and wasps that we had to kill inside. I know cabins can be prone to inside bugs but it seemed like a lot. Beautiful area and a short drive to West Jefferson and Grayson Highlands. Pizza place in town was worth the wait!

Our time at the cabin was wonderful. We were able to enjoy our stay and sleep well. The only concern we had was that the loft was very hot and had little privacy and the rooms below were very cold but other than that it was a lovely stay and we hope to go again soon.

We were there at the peak fall colors time this year and it was so beautiful. It is obviously a well-taken care of home. We had a wonderful time. Unless you have a four-wheel drive, would not recommend if there is snow/ice on the steep driveway. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

Lovely view and spotless cabin. Kitchen was well stocked and there were nice restaurants close by in West Jefferson. The management agency is so very helpful and was available when we had questions. I would recommend for one or two couples.

The cabin was as advertised, great location, and very convenient to West Jefferson and the great, small town of Lansing. It took less than 30 minutes to get to Grayson Highlands State Park. The cabin was very clean, spacious, and well supplied with everything you need. The view from the front porch and the hammock were perfect. We would absolutely stay again!

We had a great stay in October at Phonenix Rising! It is a beautiful cabin and very well equipped. There is a great little park by the river in downtown Lansing and then it is an easy drive into West Jefferson (where we went to the farmers market)
