My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay at Sweetwater Cottage. The house is open and all furniture/furnishings/lamps are well selected, well placed and very convenient. The interior provides a sense of comfort as soon as you walk in. Everything we needed was there. The combination of short steps, platforms, deck levels, and porches were inviting every time we came back to the cottage. Location off NC 163 was minutes to West Jefferson, Mount Jefferson, Glendale Springs, and other places we visited. The New River was only a short walk away. We hope to return some day for another visit.

Spent 10 days there alone with my dog. Home was very clean and well equipped. Loved the decorating and touches. Loved the seclusion. No issues at all but will say the master bedroom mattress is far too soft for my personal preference. Having my dog, the containment of the outdoor area was a big plus. We spent 95% of our waking hours on the front deck. We will most certainly will be back.

Very well appointed and decorated. Very clean. Comfortable beds. Kitchen is well stocked. Awesome outdoor space. The fenced area was perfect for our dogs. It would be perfect if it had a hot tub and more comfortable chairs in the living room, but overall, it was a wonderful place to call home for the long holiday weekend. Communication from Stay Blue Ridge crew was top notch. We will certainly be back!

This little cabin was so peaceful. It was clean and well stocked. There was no through traffic as the cabin is at the end of the road. It had a fenced yard for our dog. The internet was surprisingly good for such a remote spot. We have stayed in other cabins where the road in and out can be hair raising, but this was very manageable. We would like to book again in the next couple of months. We live near the beach, but miss the mountains, so we treat ourselves a few times a year. Very pleased with our choice.

Sweetwater is the perfect spot to escape the hot summer temperatures. This mountain cottage comes with a well-equipped kitchen for cooking along with a quality propane grill outdoors. The porch seating was very comfortable with a table for outdoor dining as well. There's ample closet and drawer space for your things and the adjustable, dimmable lighting for reading in bed was awesome.(I'm going to look for something similar for my bedroom at home.) Nearby Downtown West Jefferson is a great little town for shopping locally made goods and art. Stay Blue Ridge Realty was prompt to answer any questions both before and during our visit, which I appreciated. My husband and I highly recommend Sweetwater and Stay Blue Ridge!

The cottage is charming and cozy. We really enjoyed the comfy porch and the fenced area for our dog. The walks in the neighborhood and to the river were perfect. We didn't even go anywhere...just enjoyed the peace and quiet.

This home was just the right size for us. We visited in cold weather and the home had a couple amenities to make it cozy: an electric heater in the bedroom and access to the temperature gauge. We were so close to many great hikes - River, West Jefferson State Park, the Appalachian trail was very close by, and we even hiked in one of our favorite places - Grayson Highlands. The kitchen was in great shape and we made our meals there. Little touches make me feel taken care of: a magnifying mirror, a book of places to go and eat, Netflix, fast-heating water, and a very comfortable bed. I didn’t rate it as excellent because it’s hard to get to although the owners give good directions. The road in and out is difficult to drive. If there was rain or snow I’m not sure if I could get there. There’s one bathroom in the master bedroom so if another couple has stayed in the second bathroom, that would have been awkward. But overall it’s a great escape!

The home was very nice and in a great location to the downtown W. Jefferson area. Well decorated and kitchen had all necessary basic items for cooking. Beds were comfortable and plenty of linens and blankets. Shower was lukewarm, at best, for all three of us that showered at different times of the day, one of which was first thing in the morning. Water was turned to the hottest setting but none of us could figure out how to make it any hotter. Other than the cool showers, which was kind of a big thing to us, our stay was perfect!

Absolutely fantastic in every way! Sweetwater is exactly as pictured and described and so much more! The setting is idyllic: very beautiful, private, peaceful and serene. This cabin is nestled in the woods with access to beautiful walking paths and trails in every direction. No stone was left unturned with regard to cleanliness and comfort. The kitchen is stocked with anything you might need and then some! There are lots of good quality sheets and towels and everything is very clean and comfortable. The hosts are delightful, very accessible and very eager to help. Everything is so very well designed and provided to make for a fantastic experience!

Thanks to my outstanding hosts Michele and Jack for sharing this slice of heaven!!! Sweetwater is idyllic in so many ways: amazing setting, privacy, neighborhood trails, beauty, serenity, comfort, proximity to river and more! The kitchen is crazy well stocked! I thought I had them when I went looking for a pizza cutter… but that was there too! All needs addressed and then some! And Sweetwater's lovely hosts were a very short walk, text or phone call away if I needed them. I felt totally at home and could not have enjoyed my stay any more than I did!

This was our second stay at Sweetwater cottage. We love how the setting surrounded by woods with the river nearby. The interior creates a peaceful atmosphere with well equipped kitchen and good beds. The exterior with different levels of decks and walkways looking into the woods is delightful. We spent a lot of time outside there. High recommend for a couple or small family.

We originally planned to stay at Sweetwater during the winter. It stormed and was icy before were to go. Could not get in and people there could not get out because of the incline going to the main road. Rescheduled for May. It was worth the wait. Nice getaway and felt restored from the COVID experience.

Beautiful drive down a nice gravel road brings you to a private and wonderful cabin. The fenced area that stretches from upstairs main level porch all the way down the front stairs and seating area, into the walkway to the downstairs gameroom, would be great for pets or small children, allowing them to enjoy the indoors and outdoors without being able to wander off. The main level boasts a gorgeous, mostly covered porch with ample seating and fire pit. Very cozy. The inside main level is beautifully decorated but comfortable. Kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pans/pots, and cooking utensils. We had everything we needed for preparing and cooking the foods we brought. The bedrooms are comfy and the bathroom is beautiful. The entire place was very clean (and I’ve owned a cleaning business for 18 years, so one would say I’m picky.) Cell service and WiFi both were great. The neighborhood is a sweet place with gravel roads and neat places to explore. We enjoyed walking down to the riverfront homes. Very private, very beautiful, very good service. Well done! Highly recommend! And it’s close to the BRP and West Jefferson. Nothing felt too far away but nothing felt too close either. Perfect spot!

This was a great place for a weekend getaway. Our dog loved the fenced in yard and we loved the fire pit and deck. It was fun to head down to the river and go for a walk. The kitchen had pretty much everything we needed and the owners were just a quick text away with questions. Look forward to returning!

Exactly as pictured. Very quiet with fenced area that our dogs loved. We had so much fun playing foosball in the basement. Kitchen was well stocked as we cooked breakfast at the cabin before hitting the cute shops in town. We will return when the weather is warmer to enjoy the patio area.

Stayed for a long weekend with the dog. The weather was bad so we were inside 95% of the time. Took a quick 10min drive downtown to re-supply the wine. Fenced area for the dog was a nice. Home is very nicely decorated and very clean. We didn’t use the “game room” downstairs, but I would think it would be perfect for your teenagers to use. Jack and Michele have thought of everything. My only critique is the lack of privacy if we were traveling with another couple. We will definitely be back in the spring!

We had a wonderful, exciting stay! We did have to cut our stay short due to weather, but if we could have had a few more days without prior school and work plans to enjoy the weather, we certainly would have! Stay Blue Ridge was easy to work with and stayed in touch with us as much as possible, even called to be sure we made it home in the snowy weather. The house is not only beautiful, but very comfortable and relaxing. Our pups also enjoyed the fenced in area outside and rolling around in the snow. A trip we will always remember. Thank you again for another wonderful weekend get away in a beautiful location and home. We will return.

We were hoping for a quiet get away. We were not disappointed! Beautiful cabin. We enjoyed everything from the full kitchen to the beautiful view. We will be back would love to be there in the fall to see all the trees changing colors. The owner even called what a personal touch. Highly recommend this cabin for a quiet get away.

My husband and I met up with our daughter for a few days at Sweetwater Cottage. We instantly felt at home for our stay. The decor and amenities are top-notch. And Mellissa, our host, could not have been more kind and gracious. Highly recommend for the house and its woodland setting.

Adorable cabin. Very cozy. The perfect quick getaway. Quick drive into town if you want, but secluded if you just want to relax. Outside deck/porch and fenced dog yard were great.

This cabin is adorable and really well appointed. Owner has great decorating taste and this place has everything you could want during your stay. Just a few yards from the New River, it's a great walk for the dog. Very private. The only downside was the chainsaw. We were hoping to get away from noise but they needed some trees down and it was our week for the chainsaws.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sweetwater Cottage. Everything we needed was supplied for. Up to date amenities - beds are super comfortable - outside deck had really comfortable sectional - fire pit overlooking the forest. Trail to river from front door step. Drove to trails around - cute town with good coffee cafes and restaurants. Hosts very accommodating - we will be back!!

Our 5 night pet-friendly stay was 'good to the last drop'! Spacious, conveniently located to Jefferson/West Jefferson, and all the activities we targeted; hiking Mt. Jefferson and walking along as well as kayaking, the New River, retail & artisan shopping and restaurants. Met the owners and they were very helpful, conversational, and supportive. Loved the gas grill and the gas fire pit on the well-apportioned, mostly covered deck. A birder's paradise also. Had just enough of all the kitchen accessories for cooking and enjoyment. Containment areas for the pets an added bonus. We would stay again, and recommend to others...

Very clean, easy to find, and super quite. The sounds of the river and the wind between the leaves was just the weekend getaway I was looking for. The host were extremely nice and hospitable. I would recommend this rental to anyone.
